QMI ClearKil is a waterless hand wash, developed to supplement routine hand washing or when soap and water is not available. QMI ClearKil has been tested in accordance with established and generally accepted protocols and is found to be safe and effective when used as directed. Time kill studies show QMI ClearKil to be 99.99% effective within 30 seconds against a broad spectrum of both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, fungi and yeasts. (According to one count, staph kills about 60,000 people in the
United States each year, more than those who die in automobile accidents.)
In order for a product to qualify as a disinfectant for use in restaurants and USDA inspected meat and poultry plants it must pass the Chlorine Equivalency and Phenol Coefficient testing. QMI ClearKil has passed both of these tests. (Results available upon request.)
Dispense several drops of QMI ClearKil in the palm of the hand and spread evenly. Individual skin type will determine the amount necessary to completely cover the hands. Dries in about 30 seconds.
QMI ClearKil lubricates the skin while preventing moisture loss, and because it is alcohol-free, it will not dry the skin like alcohol based products sometimes do.
Food processing, USDA inspected meat and poultry plants, citrus, breweries and hospitals, medical and dental offices, labs and emergency service personnel.
Health care personnel wash their hands 20 to 30 times per day in an effort to prevent cross infection. Officials estimate between 5 and 7 percent of all the people who go into the hospital get an infection they didn’t have when they arrived. According to Dr. William Jarvis of the Center for Disease Control, “…as many as 80,000 patients die each year from the effects of hospital-born infections.” Sometimes health professionals forget to wash their hands between patients or simply do not take the time. QMI ClearKil is fast, effective and easy to use.
A study published by Dairy Food and Environmental Sanitation1 found that alcohol based instant hand washes were found to be ineffective in the food service establishments. The study found that alcohol actually pulls subdermal bacteria residing in the various skin layers to the surface, resulting in an increase in resident bacterial numbers on the skin surface.
