Loading... Please wait...The “first step” in cleaning fuel and air intake systems is cleaning the throttle body. When air intake components become dirty and deposits accumulate, intake air does not flow and mix properly with fuel, causing rough idle, stalling, tip-in hesitation, poor fuel economy and increased emissions.
Ever-Wear Throttle Body Air Intake Cleaner cleans the throttle body and throttle plate, critical for maximum fuel and air intake system cleaning and restored performance in all engines. Scientifically formulated to safely clean away varnish, carbon, dirt and other contaminants.
All fuel injected and carbureted engines.
Effective cleaning ........................ Specially formulated triple-action cleaner utilizes non-halogenated solvents, temperature stable polymeric dispersants and detergents for fast,
effective removal of deposits and contaminants.
Lubricates and protects ................ After cleaning, Ever-Wear Throttle Body Air Intake Cleaner lubricates the throttle plate and all moving parts, and provides double protection with a
corrosion inhibitor and lubricity agent in conjunction with lubricating oil to prevent scoring and deposit build-up on close tolerance components.
Safe .......................................... Specialized formula designed for safe, effective cleaning of highly sensitive materials and components. Ford intake manifold safe. Also safe for idle control valves and oxygen sensors. (Do not use carburetor and choke cleaners for fuel injected engines, as they contain chemicals that could damage sensitive components.)
1. Attach plastic extension tube to can nozzle.
2. Bring engine to normal operating temperature, and stop engine.
3. Access throttle body and plate by removing intake boot and duct assembly.
4. With engine off, hold throttle at full open position.
5. Wet inside of throttle body and plate with cleaner, let soak for 30 seconds.
6. Scrub deposits from surfaces with small nylon bottle brush or toothbrush.
7. Wet again and wipe clean with shop rag.
8. Repeat if necessary.
9. Reattach intake boot, start engine to purge cleaner and check for air leaks.
