We have been asked numerous times as to where to start when thinking about treating your vehicle. We hope this answers your questions, but if it still leaves you wondering, please don't hesitate to send us an e-mail or give us a call and we'll answer all of your questions.
If your vehicle, either gas or diesel is broken in, meaning you have at least 3,000 miles for a gasoline rig or 15,000 for a diesel rig, then we suggest treating your engine with 20% QMI Engine Treatment, (1 qt QMI to 4 qts oil for a 5 qt capacity, or 1 gal QMI to 4 gal oil for 5 gallon capacity). This treatment will last 50,000 miles, so you don't have to add it every oil change. You will, however, continue to do oil changes as suggested by your vehicle's manufacturer.
In addition to treating the engine, we also suggest you treat your automatic transmission with QMI Automatic Transmission Treatment, or if a manual transmission, depending on which fluid your transmission carries, then match the viscosity. Some manual transmissions take ATF, others take engine oil and still others take 90wt gear oil. Have to check your owners manual for that.
It is always a good idea to use QMI Fuel Treatment, at least once a month in your fuel tank to help keep your injectors, fuel rail, carburetor, clean and lubricated. QMI Fuel Treatment also removes water from your fuel system, cleans your combustion chamber, increases fuel economy and promotes cleaner air for the environment. Unleaded fuel is hard on gas rigs, especially if it has ethanol (alcohol), and ultra-low sulfur diesel is very hard on diesel rigs. QMI Fuel Treatment is a high-tech advanced formula that does not contain any form of alcohol or kerosene.
If your vehicle is rear wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, we also suggest using QMI Gear Treatment in not only the rear end but the transfer case as well. Again, check owners manual for viscosity to be sure you add the correct weight treatment.
Let's not forget the power steering unit. One bottle of QMI Power Steering Treatment will treat any unit.
And lets not forget the Cooling System either. RMI-25 will keep your radiator, heater, engine block clean, lubricated and free of rust and corrosion. It is a once a year application, compatible with all anti-freezes.
If you have a seal leak in any oil system, such as engine, transmission, power steering, rear-end, or hydraulic systems, then you can try QMI LiquiSeal. It will soften and gently swell the seals stopping the leak and increaseing the life of the seal. It does not contain any aromatic solvents that would cause uncontrolled swelling of seals and seal dehydration, which would cause them to crack in the future. (Many cheaper products use this method of rapid seal swelling with aromatic solvents.) If the seal is torn, then we cannot help you out and don't want you to waste your money. If the leak is in your radiator, then use Dike Temporary Radiator Stop Leak. It is outstanding, will usually stop even the worst leaks and WILL NOT CLOG YOUR SYSTEM.
We hope this helps. Again, if we didn't address your questions here, please give us a call. We are here to help.
